CIEM consist of 15 Council Members sitting on the Board of Standards.

Below are the job functions of the Council Members :-

1. Evaluate applications from individuals that do not have enough qualifications

2. Appointment of new members in the respective countries

3. Setting up new exam questions

4. Final appraisal of projects submission

5. Issuance of Certificates

6. Maintaining standards and code of ethics
